Why It’s A Great Time to Upgrade This Spring
Sales activity has been trending upward and is expected to continue this pattern through the summer months. Sales prices are down, and inventory levels are healthy which is appealing to buyers and homeowners looking to upgrade. Seller's concern is that they take a loss when selling their current home in today's market. While this is a valid concern, it’s important to keep in mind that a loss, if any, would be offset by the long-term gain from the purchase of the new property at a reduced price.
A Tour of Carnegie Hill Neighborhood of Manhattan
Located between East 86th and 96th Streets and stretching from 3rd to 5th Avenues, the affluent neighborhood got its name after Andrew Carnegie built his mansion on 5th Avenue and 91st Street in 1901. Carnegie Hill is known for its wood-frame houses and Neo-Gothic mansions that border residential buildings along tree-lined blocks. its proximity to Central Park keeps the neighborhood in high demand. In fact, the demand is so high, that the border has been getting pushed northward into Spanish Harlem, Families are drawn to the neighborhood for its public and private schools, some of which are ranked highest in the country including the Spence School and Hunter College High School. Home prices here can be particularly high, and of course, you can expect prices to be higher, the closer you are to Central Park. Please reach out if you would like to tour some properties in Carnegie Hill or would like more information.

Finding the Right Agent
Whether you’re in search of a new doctor, an attorney or a real estate agent, it’s important to do your research to identify a person you can trust. And with an abundance of estate brokers in Manhattan, finding the right one to represent you can be overwhelming. My advice: 1. Find someone who really listens and takes time to understand your needs and situation. This is most important. 2. A good broker should be knowledgeable in all facets of NYC real estate from the pros and cons of every neighborhood to the state of the market and everything in between. 3. The agent should work at a pace that is comfortable for you and not rush you into closing a deal. 4. Select an agent associated with a reputable NYC firm that can offer you the tools and resources needed to make informed decisions.
